Of the many different types of water filters available, an under the sink water filter is the most convenient. The installation might be quite a bit more involved than filling a water pitcher, but once it is installed you will have clean, delicious, filtered water available at your fingertips.
What You Need
There are a few supplies you will need to complete your installation. The most important part, of course, is your filter kit, that will include all of the pieces of the under the sink filter. You can purchase this at most home improvement stores and some supermarkets. There are many brands to choose from and a pretty wide range for prices as well, so you should have no problem finding a choice that works for you.
There are many under the sink filters that are made to accompany a separate faucet. For the purposes of this article, we will focus on using the main faucet only.
Other supplies that you will need:
- A screwdriver
- Adjustable wrenches
- Thread seal tape (also sometimes called “Teflon tape”)
- A sink or “basin” wrench
