A big part of being environmentally conscious is leaving behind a viable and healthy planet for future generations. Teaching our children how to be environmentally aware is one of the best starts to a better and brighter future. The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

An overwhelming favorite, especially since the movie adaptation in 2012, this Dr. Seuss page turner teaches about the dangers of deforestation and corporate greed. Like all Dr. Seuss narratives, the rhymes and animations keep children entertained while teaching an important lesson.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien

A sweet story about unconditional love, this childhood favorite also hints at the sadness behind environmental exploitation. It is a reminder of how much the trees around us truly give, from air to paper to shelter.
