What are pavers made out of?

Interlocking concrete and precast concrete pavers are made out of cement and rock materials known as fine and coarse aggregate. The volume of aggregate is modified to determine concrete paver finishes and color pigment is added before concrete pavers are poured into various standard shapes and sizes.

How long do pavers last?

Most paver manufacturers offer a lifetime guarantee for their products. An important factor that allows a pavers installation to last much longer than concrete, is the ease of repair. Should ever have issues with cracked or chipped pavers, you can simply have them replaced without taking away from the function or look of the patio, pool deck, driveway or walkway. Therefore, the longevity and integrity of the installation is significantly higher than that of other hardscape paving materials.

What are the different type of pavers?

Smooth pavers – Pavers have a smooth surface and straight corners. Textured Pavers – have a textured surface that creates a rustic look. Tumbled Pavers – have chiseled corners that provide an antique or distressed broken look.

Why choose pavers over concrete?

Although easy to install, concrete is likely to split and crack, especially in a seismic area such as Southern California. Pavers on the other hand, due to the installation process and their interlocking system, are more flexible and are able to disperse pressure or weight evenly, which helps prevent cracking. Additionally, paving stones come in a variety of shapes, textures, patterns and colors, and offer more design options for your project than concrete slabs.

How do i select the pavers that will make my driveway, patio, pool deck, and walkway stand out?

Every project we do is customized to compliment the style of each individual home. Our design experts will work with you to help you pick the best paver for your home’s design. We can create unique patterns to ensure that your home stands out.

What are tumbled pavers?

Tumbled pavers are standard pavers that have been put through a machine that wears down sharp edges, giving tumbled pavers a more natural and aged look.

What is the difference between natural stone pavers and concrete pavers?

Natural stones are primarily cut from real rock, as opposed to concrete pavers, which are man-made.

What is geotextile? what does it do? is it necessary?

Sometimes called filter fabric, geotextile is made of plastic threads that allow water to pass through them. Geotextile separates and contains the base from the underlying soil subgrade. It allows the base to shed water, and prevents the soil around it from working its way into the base. Without geotextile, the soil will work its way into the base and weaken it. This is a slow process that happens when the soil is saturated with water or during periods of thawing. Geotextile stops this process and extends the life of the base by many years. Geotextile is recommended for use over silt and clay soils and not essential in sandy soils. Geotextile is used primarily for driveways due to the vehicle traffic and weight.

Should i seal concrete pavers?

Sealing is not essential in many applications but it offers many benefits like enhancing colors or gloss and making spills and stains easier to remove. Liquid sealers are applied after the pavers are installed and are cleaned. Once applied, the sealers soak into the concrete and into the joints. The sealer that soaks into the joints helps keep activate the binding agents in the sand and prevents weeds and ants.

Are there disadvantages to sealing?

Since they are a transparent paint-like coating, sealers generally need to be reapplied every three to five years. Use sealers specifically for concrete pavers. More intense use of the pavers and extreme climates often increase the need for re-applying a coat of sealer.

How much weight will my pavers support?

Concrete pavers will typically support the weight of several cars and withstand pressure up to 8000 psi. (Concrete can usually only hold weight up to 1500-2500 psi without cracking.)

Some of our panels come complete with advanced monitoring systems so that you, Treeium Energy, and the manufacturer are kept updated on their output. This is how we'll determine if, for instance, there are any shading issues such as a fallen leaf or debris that is causing panels to malfunction. What is Title 24?

This is the name for California's Energy Commission's energy efficiency standards, which have saved Californians billions in reduced electricity bills since 1977. These standards conserve electricity and natural gas and prevent the state from having to build more power plants. The Commission accounts for the savings by using forecasting models for residential and commercial energy consumption. The savings are calculated by determining the energy savings associated with a more efficient building standard or appliance. Savings accumulate over time as older equipment and appliances are replaced with newer, more efficient models and older buildings are retired and replaced with new construction. Many of SolReliable's Green Energy Solutions, such as double- or triple-pane windows and doors, are directly recommended by Title 24.
